We just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone at Brunel Judo Club! Our kids have grown so much in confidence, discipline, and strength since joining. The coaches are incredibly supportive, skilled, and make every session fun and motivating. It's clear this club is more than just a sport—it's a family. We're so proud to be part of it.

My son and I joined Brunel Judo from another local club two years ago and have never looked back. The coaching team is superb - highly knowledgeable, experienced and, crucially, is able to break down techniques into concepts - which makes learning Judo a lot more dynamic and fun compared to many other clubs in the area. Extremely friendly training environment too, catering for all levels from beginner to advanced. Cannot recommend Brunel highly enough.

I have 2 boys that both love judo, which is a testimonial to the teaching and atmosphere that the volunteer coaches influence in the club. Both boys confidence in themselves and their judo as been astounding. Competting nationally and aboard. They have gained so many friends within the judo community fostered by the club in a family friendly environment.

Brunel Judo Club isn't just a club - it's a family. They know my child so well and have supported him through challenges both on and off the mat, always believing in him. Despite having various SEN and some personal issues, he's been encouraged every step of the way, and in just three years, his confidence has soared. He's even been lucky enough to compete in Bosnia and Croatia! Not bad for age 11! From tough days to national medals, the coaches and teammates have been there with patience, kindness, and unwavering support. He (and I!) have made good friends for life. I'm so grateful for this amazing, inclusive club

4 of my boys and I are Judokas at Brunel Judo. The most important thing for us was choosing a sport for our boys where the coaches would create an environment of enthusiasm that would enable our boys to learn with a sense of motivation and passion. We have been with Brunel Judo for over two and 1/2 years now, and my boys continue to enjoy Judo whilst their confidence grows. My boys also motivated me to try something new, so shortly after they started, I joined judo. Being a bit older and being experienced in different contact sports, I decided to give it ago. While my body gets bruised here and there, it's an amazing sport with an even greater group of people. I look forward to the challenges faced, knowing that my fellow judokas and coaches are always here to help us excel. Brunel isn't just a training school, it's a family. Made good friends. Lauren has really enjoyed coming to judo over the past few months. Its really boosted her confidence especially as we have been waiting 3 years for her autism assessment. It helped having familiar faces there and people showing her multiple times when she struggled to understand what to do.

Brunel Judo is a cut above the rest, and I don't say this lightly. We've been to a number of martial arts clubs and other sports clubs in Bristol but no one does it quite like Gavin and his team. You'll find a real team spirit and bond from the moment you come in for your taster session which will be really evident in how the other kids treat yours from the get go - as well as how other parents welcome you. Gavin is very capable and has done such a great job in fostering a safe, exciting environment for your child to learn how to test their boundaries and become themselves, in a non-violent, yet effective defence combat style. My sons' confidence has sky rocketed in and out of their classes. It's amazing to see what can be achieved in a focussed hour a week!

Awais used to feel overwhelmed in settings with lots of children - would often sit quietly and play on his own, excluding himself. Since joining judo, he's made incredible progress both inside and outside of class, and I truly believe it all started when you awarded him the gold belt that recognition gave him such a boost! As for Aydin, he didn't even want to try judo at first & but from his very first class, he absolutely loved it. I've never seen him take to a sport so quickly! That really is a testament to you and your team. Thank you so much for the positive impact you've had on both of them
